DIAMOND FIREGUARD 120 is a single-component, solvent-based, reactive intumescent fire-retardant coating designed to provide passive fire protection to structural steel.When exposed to elevated temperatures, the coating undergoes a controlled intumescent reaction and expands to form a thick, thermally insulating char layer. This insulating layer reduces the rate at which the protected steel reaches critical temperatures during a fire.The coating is designed as part of a complete fire-protection system comprising steel substrate + compatible primer + intumescent coating + compatible topcoat where required.
